Ultra-cold Fermi superfluids
KTH/Nordita/SU seminar in Theoretical Physics [before December 2013]

Wednesday 12 March 2008
from 11:00 to 12:00
at FA31
Speaker : Jani-Petri Martikainen (NORDITA)
Abstract : New cooling techniques combined with Feshbach resonances to tune the coupling strength between atoms, has enabled the creation of fermionic superfluids in ultra-cold atomic gases. I will give an overview of this rapidly developing field of ultra-cold Fermi gases and towards the end of my talk I will discuss the physics in optical lattices in greater detail. In particular, I will outline the expected phase-diagram for two-component systems with population mismatch.
