Abstract : In this talk I present an algebraic approach to scattering amplitudes in N=4 SYM. This approach uses the so-called R-operator associated with Yangian symmetry. After introducing the necessary algebraic framework, I will show how to construct the invariants that form scattering amplitudes. Alternatively, these invariants can also be described by on-shell diagrams and permutations and I will discuss the map between these formalisms. I will discuss tree level amplitudes in detail and will finally move on to amplitudes at loop level.
