The roles of basal ganglia and mesencephalon in movement control in lower vertebrates
CBN (Computational Biology and Neurocomputing) seminars

Friday 19 October 2012
from 10:00 to 11:00
at RB35
Speaker : Iman Kamali Sarvestani (CB/CSC/KTH)
Abstract : Based on known anatomy of mesencephalic-diencephalic projections to the reticulospinal neurons, we have developed a functional model of how these motor centers generate and control basic survival behaviors such as escape, avoidance and approach. Moreover, we suggest a model for how the basal ganglia selects proper behavioral task.
