Free Electron Lasers for Infrared Experiments: a radiation facility in Nijmegen, the Netherlands
Molecular Physics seminar
Wednesday 30 November 2011
to 11:00 at
Prof. Wim J. van der Zande (Institute for Molecules and Materials, Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands)
A new facility, Free Electron Lasers for Infrared Experiments (FELIX) is under construction in Nijmegen. It consists of three FELs operating between 3 micron and 1500 micron generating high power radiation making non-linear experiments possible. Examples will be given of recent experiments as well as the status of FLARE the long wavelength laser that started lasing in September and proposed programs of the facility in solid state and molecular physics.
