Abstract :

String theory has facilated dramatic progress in mathematics
in the past decade. As physicists, we are interested in knowing if
string theory can make predictions for Nature. Can we make testable
models for the early universe physics where strings are supposed to
behave very differently from point particles? Can we really make use
of the dramatical modification of the notion of space and time coming
out of string theory in a consistent mathematical frame work? I will
convey some of the exciting developments in formulating cosmological
models using string theory.
