Relating classical solutions of gauge theory and gravity
  OKC/Nordita High-Energy Physics Theory seminar

Monday 08 May 2017
from 13:15 to 14:15
at Nordita East Building ( 132:028 )
Speaker : Donal O'Connell (University of Edinburgh)
Abstract : In recent years, we have learned that there is a close connection between scattering amplitudes in gauge theory and gravity. In this talk, I will build on this connection to relate perturbative classical solutions of General Relativity to Yang-Mills theory. Since the perturbative approach to Yang-Mills theory is much simpler than to General Relativity, this new method may offer an efficient way of determining perturbative physical observables in gravity.
