Cluster structures in hydrogen-bonded systems (alcohols and water)

Matrix-isolated small clusters of hydrogen-bonded alcohols and water constitute experimental model systems for studying the transition from gas phase to the condensed liquid or solid. Here we will present and discuss FTIR spectroscopy results accompanied by quantum chemical spectrum simulations to assign the spectral features. Particular focus will be given to the temperature evolution of the vibrational spectra in the condensed phase.
