A bottom-up analysis of the AMPS paradox
  OKC/Nordita High-Energy Physics Theory seminar

Tuesday 18 February 2014
from 15:00 to 16:30
at 122:026
Speaker : I-Sheng Yang (UNUSUAL DAY AND TIME) (Amsterdam U)
Abstract : Almheiri, Marolf, Polchinski and Sully have significantly improved the original black hole information paradox. I will demonstrate that despite this improvement, the paradox still fails to fit into one causal patch. Therefore, low energy, semi-classical quantum field theory for every individual observer is still paradox free. Despite this failure, AMPS challenge illustrated many interesting bottom-up constraints to quantum gravity, and I will point out and discuss some of them.
