Current status of Higgs boson searches from ATLAS
  OKC colloquia

Tuesday 15 May 2012
from 13:15 to 15:15
at FA32
Speaker : Jonas Strandberg (KTH)
Abstract : The Higgs boson is the final missing piece to complete the standard model of particle physics. It has been searched for in all major collider experiments since it was postulated 50 years ago, and so far no conclusive evidence of its existance has been found. The LHC at CERN was built to provide the final answer to the question of whether the Higgs boson exists, and during 2011 remarkable progress was made towards this end. In this colloqium the latest results from the ATLAS collaboration will be reviewed and an outlook will be given for what we can expect to see during 2012.
