Abstract :
In the seminar, after a brief introduction to the principle and instrumentation of the scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM), several spectacular applications will be discussed. These include a study of AlGaN-based UV light emitting diodes performed in our group, as well as world highlights, such as measurements of excitonic wave functions, all-optical switching using just three quantum dots, and pulse propagation in photonic crystal and plasmonic waveguides.
